SEG Cut File Calculator
Work out cut & print file sizes for SEG fabric skins from the finished frame dimension
Enter the finished frame outside dimension and the fabric's stretch on each axis, then the SEG beading details from the profile drawing below. Tip: the frame can be rotated 90° against the roll — try both orientations (swap X and Y) and keep the one with minimal fabric waste.
1 — Frame & Fabric Stretch
Weft (X) runs across the roll; warp (Y) along it. Stretch: use the percentages provided by your fabric supplier, entering 2/3 of the supplier's value on each axis so some stretch remains to fit the frame. Formula: supplier % × 2 ÷ 3 (e.g. 1% × 2 ÷ 3 = 0.67%).
2 — SEG Beading & Channel Allowance
Refs B, C, D per the profile drawing below. Set SEG to No for a plain stretch-compensated size.
Results
| WEFT / WIDTH — X (ACROSS) | WARP / LENGTH — Y (ALONG) | |
|---|---|---|
| Stretch-compensated size | 0 | 0 |
| Less frame offset (D × n) | −0 | −0 |
| SEG allowance (B + C) × n | +0 | +0 |
